A story of Men
Son of a seed merchant in the town centre of Colmar, Serge Voltz created in 1985 his company distributing vegetable and flower seeds to market gardeners and horticulturists and logically named it "GRAINES VOLTZ".
In 35 years, GRAINES VOLTZ has become the first independent French family business in this market. The company, through its strong convictions, has been able to anticipate the needs of its customers and provide a tailor-made service and support. Over the years, Serge Voltz and his brother Christian, the financial director, have surrounded themselves with expert technicians who are passionate about the product to support their development. GRAINES VOLTZ is today 270 employees who work every day to satisfy your needs.
For remain true to our DNA based on proximity to our customers, we have set up an organisation dedicated to market gardening in 2021. The team VOLTZ Maraîchage team now provides you with services fully adapted to your specific needs, whether you are in conventional or organic production.

Birth of GRAINES VOLTZ in Colmar
The company is entirely dedicated to the seed trade. In one year, Graines Voltz achieves a turnover of 1 million francs with a regional clientele.
2002
Logistics development: Creation of a centre in Brain-sur-l'Authion (49)
The location in the heart of the French plant competitiveness cluster guarantees speed and quality of service to customers.
2004-2006
Performance prize and Grand Prix de l'Entrepreneur
2004, Performance Prize, awarded by the daily newspaper "Les Echos" in the development category.
2006, Grand Prix de l'Entrepreneur Grand Est, awarded by the monthly magazine "L'Entreprise".
2020
Acquisition of the business portfolio of HILD SAMEN
Graines Voltz acquires the business portfolio of HILD Samen located in Marbach, Germany.
2020
Acquisition of the distribution company HERMINA-MAIER
Creation of a subsidiary in Germany through the acquisition of one of the most important independent distributors of professional seeds in this country and in Austria.

Convinced that tomorrow's agriculture will be based on healthier food that is more respectful of the environment and of people, Serge Voltz developed his first range of organic vegetable seeds in 1998. His challenge was to offer organic market gardeners a variety of varieties as wide as those available in conventional farming, with the same high quality standards and the same security of supply. More than 600 varieties are now available in organic seeds: vegetables, old vegetables, herbs, etc.
